LST Policy Regarding Worker Insurance
LST requires all workers to be covered by insurance and show proof for the following areas
- hospitalization when in foreign countries
- medical care for both accidents and emergency health needs when in foreign countries.
You will need to verify your coverage by providing LST with one of the following:
- photocopy of the front and back of your insurance card,
- photocopy of the coverage page(s) of your insurance policy
LST suggests that workers may want to obtain personal travel insurance to cover the following:
- Air evacuation from a foreign country, if deemed necessary, in order to secure adequate health care.
- Repatriation of remains in case of death
- Personal liability insurance
- Trip interruption insurance (in case of death of a family member, for instance)
For those who do not have appropriate insurance coverage, here is a list of companies who offer this kind of coverage. LST does not recommend these companies, nor evaluate the coverages that they offer. LST also does not receive any proceeds from any of these companies for coverage which is sold to LST workers.
