Since 1980, the LET’S START TALKING MINISTRY has been leading Americans overseas into non-English speaking countries and providing them with an effective method for sharing their faith. Since its inception in the home of Mark and Sherrylee Woodward, the ministry has continued to grow because many people want to share the good news abroad but have not had the vehicle. LST is a service ministry. We help Christians do what they already want to do, and we help them do it effectively.

Mark and Sherrylee Woodward worked as full-time missionaries in Germany from 1971-79. After returning to the States, they looked for an effective way to stay involved in overseas missions. They developed a short-term mission strategy for offering practice in the English language using Scripture as the conversation text. This combination offers those who participate something that they really want (practice with their English) and at the same time creates an environment where questions about God, Jesus, and faith arise very naturally.

The ministry grew as the opportunities came, first throughout Western Europe, then into Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Later workers carried LST into Central and South America and now it is spreading throughout Asia and Africa. LST workers are carrying the Good News of Jesus into the whole world!
